Projects can also target homeowners, contractors, municipal officials, and watershed organizations. The goal of the grant is to support the work of the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP), including CREP enrollment, re-enrollment, and maintenance.

Project Examples:

  • Virtual farmer or landowner meetings and educational workshops: Group workshops on the proper installation and maintenance of forested buffers and other conservation practices. The workshops must be offered virtually. The group workshops can provide information on the installation and proper maintenance techniques to ensure the practice is successful. Common problems (such as weed control) and how to remedy those problems can also be discussed.
  • Educational Videos: Videos created to provide information on CREP including enrollment, re-enrollment, maintenance, benefits, etc. These videos can be created by district staff or other contracted professionals.
