Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA)

Agency: State

GrantWatch ID #206426

Grant Description

Previous Page Version

Grants to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations for projects that help to increase the sales, export, or awareness of the state's hemp products. Funding is intended to assist marketing and advertising organizations in promoting the hemp industry. Eligible activities include local or national promotion. Priority is given to the promotion, education, and export market development of agricultural hemp within the Commonwealth. Special consideration will be given to projects that leverage other funding and public-private partnerships.

The goal of the grant program is to offer opportunities for farm income and jobs as well as new possibilities for climate-friendly, environmentally beneficial help products. Projects should:

  1. Increase consumer awareness of agricultural hemp products within this Commonwealth and thereby increase sales of these agricultural hemp products.
  2. Educate producers and consumers with respect to agricultural hemp products within this Commonwealth.
  3. Facilitate the growth and development of export markets for agricultural hemp products within this Commonwealth.

An eligible hemp product is an agricultural or industrial product that is legal to grow, process, and sell within this Commonwealth, which has a major component/ingredient derived from the hemp plant.
