Grants to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals in eligible locations to address critical needs during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended to respond to pandemic-related community challenges and to increase vaccination rates. The goal of the grant is to assist communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Funding will prioritize specific communities in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

Funds will be distributed as general operating support grants and will be awarded based on activities that provide direct relief to communities located in priority funding areas and toward projects addressing the funding priorities.  

Applicants must address at least one of the following areas:

  1. In-depth education on COVID-19 prevention, vaccine safety and effectiveness, hesitancy, and resistance 
  2. Supporting those with barriers gaining access to vaccinations
  3. Providing resources, services, and vaccine information to those communities experiencing financial, physical, and mental health challenges due to or made worse by  COVID-19 
  4. COVID-19 related outreach, educational, and event promotion campaigns to better inform and activate the community.

Programs must serve one or more of the following populations:

  • Asian, Asian American, and/or Pacific Islander 
  • Black or African American
  • Elderly
  • Homeless
  • Immigrant and refugees
  • Hispanic/Latinx/Latino/Latina
  • Low-income
  • Native/First Nation
  • Other People of Color 
  • People currently incarcerated
  • People in other congregate living situations
  • People struggling with addiction and/or with mental illness
  • People with disabilities
  • People re-entering the community
  • Youth and young adults.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants for community-based organizations: Organizations may request grants ranging from $3,000 to $25,000. Grants for organizations with budgets greater than $2.5 million will be capped at $15,000 and will be accepted by invitation only.

Grants for Businesses: Businesses may request grants of $3,000 to $15,000 and will be accepted by invitation only.

Grants for individuals: Individuals may request grants up to $3,000 and will be accepted by invitation only.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Fund will accept applications from 501(c)(3) organizations, businesses, and individuals working in the designated communities in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia and counties.

To support grassroots community efforts that leverage existing networks, the Fund will issue an open invitation to nonprofit organizations with budgets under $2.5 million; individuals, businesses, and nonprofits with a budget over $2.5 million must be invited to apply.
