Grants to Pennsylvania local governments, planning organizations, and commonwealth agencies for low-cost projects to improve public safety and mobility throughout the state. Funding is intended to support planning, pre-construction, and construction costs. Regional projects with participation by multiple municipalities, as well as projects improving multiple transportation modes, are encouraged.

Other projects which, at the discretion of the Department involve improvement to highway safety and mobility, will be considered.

Funds may be used by the grantee to pay for any of the following project costs:

Projects can be initiated upon the finalization of an ARLE reimbursement agreement (required for grant award winners) with the Department. Projects must be completed within 3 years from the date of ARLE reimbursement agreement execution.
